General Summary:
As a Lead Engineer – IT Network, you will play a critical role in shaping and evolving our global network landscape. You bring deep expertise in enterprise network engineering and architecture, applying proven design methodologies and best practices to ensure resilient, secure, and scalable connectivity across the organization.
This role partners closely with senior technology leaders and subject matter experts to define technology roadmaps, establish architecture standards, and drive continuous improvement. You will lead the design, implementation, and advancement of network solutions while serving as a senior escalation point for complex and critical network issues. In addition, you provide technical leadership by coordinating architecture team efforts and guiding successful execution of major initiatives.
How You Will Help Us Connect the World:
- Lead the development of network technology roadmaps, providing strategic planning, technical expertise, and recommendations for new and emerging technologies.
- Ensure all network architecture and technical solutions align with corporate policies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Partner closely with IT Operations and business stakeholders to maintain alignment as new business initiatives, technologies, and deployments emerge.
- Assess current network technologies to identify opportunities for performance improvement, optimization, and cost reduction, and define high‑level plans to deliver measurable value.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively through presentations, documentation, and executive briefings for senior leadership.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of architecture documentation, including design artifacts, Visio diagrams, and configuration standards.
- Coordinate architecture team workloads, provide technical leadership, and act as the primary point of contact for architecture‑related initiatives.
- Perform network modeling, analysis, and capacity planning to ensure solutions meet both current and future business requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in a global enterprise environment across technologies including:
- Routing and WAN protocols: MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
- QoS and traffic engineering
- Firewalls: Palo Alto, Cisco
- Wireless: Cisco, Ruckus, Aruba
- Load balancers: F5
- VPN technologies: IPsec, DMVPN
- Support the design, deployment, and optimization of SD WAN solutions (Versa Networks experience preferred).
- Assist with the design and rollout of IPv6, WAN circuits, data centers, manufacturing sites, branch offices, and remote connectivity solutions.
- Build and maintain network automation tools using advanced scripting and APIs (Python, YAML, JSON, Postman, Perl, Django).
- Support ongoing cloud networking initiatives across AWS and Azure, including lifecycle management, vendor selection, circuit provisioning, and troubleshooting.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, TCPDump, and IOS packet capture to diagnose complex network issues.
- Act as the fourth level escalation point for major outages and critical network incidents impacting the business.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive hands‑on experience in enterprise network architecture and engineering, including routing, WAN, security, wireless, and data center networking.
- Proven experience delivering complex, large‑scale enterprise initiatives spanning multiple technologies and architecture domains.
- Strong ability to create strategic technology roadmaps that align infrastructure capabilities with business strategy.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical topics to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills in a fast‑paced, global environment.
- Ability to lead through influence, take accountability for outcomes, and collaborate effectively across teams.
You Will Excite Us If You Have
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise networking, with 10+ years preferred for senior‑level impact.
- Experience designing and operating global or regional (APAC) networks across multiple countries.
- Hands‑on expertise with SD WAN platforms, network automation, and API‑driven infrastructure.
- Strong exposure to cloud first and hybrid networking architectures (AWS and/or Azure).
- A passion for continuous learning, innovation, and simplifying complex systems.
- The ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on execution while mentoring and guiding others.
