Staff software Engineer (QA in broadband domain)

We are seeking a Staff QA Engineer to join our Broadband and Network group

Location-Bangalore (Hybrid)

In this role, you will be responsible for validating and testing cloud-native microservices that seamlessly integrate with complex embedded systems. The position requires strong expertise in distributed architectures, CMTS /DOCIS domain  ,hands-on troubleshooting skills, and the ability to develop, execute, and enhance automated test frameworks across both microservices and embedded platforms.

The ideal candidate will be capable of identifying and resolving issues across the full technology stack, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high-quality software delivery.

How You’ll help us connect the world:

• Define test strategies/test plans, and validation approaches for cloud-native microservices, CMTS/DOCSIS platforms, and embedded devices
• Create and maintain detailed test cases covering functional, integration, system, resiliency, scalability, performance, and end-to-end workflows.
• Execute end-to-end, integration, regression, interoperability, and system-level test suites.
• Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues across distributed microservices, CMTS/DOCSIS components, embedded systems, and networking infrastructure.
• Analyze logs, traces, telemetry data, packet captures, and system metrics to isolate root causes.
• Work in scrum model and collaborate closely with R&D Scrum teams to investigate complex issues, providing detailed technical analysis and reproducible scenarios
• Provide on-demand SQA customer support for issue triage, verification, and release confidence
• Utilize Automations and Debugging tool clubbed AI technology to improve test coverage, execution efficiency, and root-cause analysis
• build, configure, and maintain complex test labs consisting of CMTS platforms, DOCSIS devices, embedded systems, virtualized environments, and cloud-native services.
• Manage hardware, network topology, simulators, traffic generators, and test environments required for large-scale validation
• Work with developers, product management, DevOps, and customer support teams to address critical issues and improve product quality.
• Design and develop scalable automation frameworks using Java, Python, or Go.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in  computer science or equivalent  with 8+ years in QA, or software engineering testing of an Embedded System (HW/SW) with Microservices.
• Exposure to AI-assisted test automation and quality engineering practices.
• Experience in QA methodologies, Scripting experience (Python, Bash, etc.)
• Linux knowledge, Strong experience in CMTS/DOCSIS technologies and broadband networking domains.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native microservices architectures, APIs, containers, and distributed systems
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills involving logs, packet captures, telemetry, and system diagnostics.
• Experience with DHCP, DNS, NAT, IPv4/IPv6
• Hands-on with Wireshark, tcpdump, Iperf / traffic generators such as Ixia, Spirent 

You will Excite us if you have:

• Knowledge of CTMS architectures and traffic engineering concepts.
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.

• fundamental networking protocols: IPv4/IPv6 routing, switching, Multicast, IGMP, DHCP, and TOD.-good to have
