Job Title: Accountant
Location: Goa, India
How You Will Help Us Connect the World
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate product and material costing in SAP while supporting finance operations, month-end close activities, and audit requirements. The role requires strong attention to detail in cost analysis, variance tracking, inventory accounting, and financial reporting, along with coordination across finance and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update standard costs in SAP by identifying materials with missing or incorrect cost data using system reports such as COST/CST51.
- Execute costing runs, update planned prices, and release standard costs in line with corporate guidelines.
- Perform cost analysis by comparing current and previous standards, identifying variances, and documenting root causes.
- Coordinate with planning teams to update source lists, purchase info records, and material costing data.
- Support provisioning activities for excess and obsolete inventory based on plant and inventory reports.
- Perform Goods in Transit (GIT) reconciliation by comparing system reports with general ledger balances and passing necessary adjustments.
- Handle inventory accounting activities including COGS split, production variance analysis, inventory reconciliation, finished goods clearing, and revaluation processes.
- Support month-end financial close by preparing journal entries, running assessment cycles, and ensuring accuracy of P&L and trial balance.
- Maintain accounting records and ensure accuracy in cost allocation and reporting.
- Assist in budgeting, MIS reporting, and financial data consolidation.
- Participate in physical inventory processes including test counts and reconciliation.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining required documentation and records.
- Collaborate with finance, planning, procurement, and warehousing teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement.
Judgments & Decision Making
- Review and validate invoices and expenses in line with company policies.
- Ensure reporting accuracy and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies or process gaps.

- Internal: Finance, Accounting, Planning, Procurement, Warehousing
- External: Vendors, Auditors, Consultants
Required Qualifications
- BCom / MCom
- 3+ years of experience in accounting (preferably costing or inventory accounting)
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on SAP
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
