Sr. Staff Software Engineer (AP)

RUCKUS Networks is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our Access Point (AP) software engineering team in Taipei. This role will lead the design and development of advanced Wi‑Fi Access Point platforms, focusing on WLAN features, embedded firmware, and security/policy frameworks.
As a senior technical leader, you will drive complex system-level initiatives, influence architecture decisions, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable wireless solutions.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of AP firmware and WLAN features across embedded Linux platforms
- Drive implementation of Wi‑Fi security and authentication frameworks, including WPA/WPA3, 802.1x, and SAE-based flows
- Contribute to development and integration of authentication and policy flows, including DPSK and RADIUS-based attributes
- Ensure consistency across WLAN-level configurations and per-client policy overrides
- Lead debugging and root cause analysis of complex issues involving roaming, policy enforcement, and cross-platform behaviors
- Collaborate with teams across Controller, Cloud, QA, and PM to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership, design reviews, and best practices
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in networking or wireless systems
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ with solid understanding of system-level design
- Strong experience with Linux system development, debugging, and performance optimization
- Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and protocol stacks
- Experience with WLAN technologies, including 802.11 standards and security protocols (WPA/WPA3, 802.1x)
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems and multi-threaded programming
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
- Experience with Wi‑Fi Access Point software development or wireless networking products
- Familiarity with hostapd architecture and Wi‑Fi stack internals
- Experience with AI Agent and AI development cycle.
- Experience working in cloud-managed or controller-based network architectures
