Demand Planner
Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, 22643
In our ‘always on’ world, we believe it’s essential to have a genuine connection with the work you do.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Demand Planner to manage and optimize the distribution of products across our supply chain network.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World:
The Demand Planner is responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining demand forecasts that support customer service, inventory targets, and manufacturing execution for the Access Networks Solutions products. This role drives the demand planning cycle by translating market signals, customer commitments, and historical trends into an agreed demand plan, while partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management/Marketing, Supply Planning, Manufacturing Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Backlog Management to align demand, supply, and financial expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain statistically based and business-informed demand forecasts by product family/SKU and customer/channel, aligned to commercial plans and historical performance.
- Lead the demand planning cadence and support the S&OP / S&OE demand process, including forecast reviews, consensus meetings, and executive alignment.
- Incorporate customer commitments, backlog, open orders, product transitions, and promotions into the forecast while documenting key assumptions and risks.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and bias (e.g., MAPE, WAPE, bias) and drive continuous improvement actions to improve forecast quality and decision-making.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product Management/Marketing, Customer Service, and Backlog Management to capture demand changes, clarify priorities, and resolve forecast exceptions.
- Use SAP IBP and ERP tools to manage forecast cycles, analyze demand drivers, and provide demand insights during S&OP reviews.
- Drive alignment between demand, supply, and financial plans by identifying demand risks/opportunities, highlighting gaps, and proposing mitigation actions.
- Partner with Supply Planning and Manufacturing to translate the agreed demand plan into supply requirements, and to communicate demand shifts that impact capacity, materials, or service levels.
- Maintain demand-related master data accuracy (product hierarchy, customer mapping, forecast models, and planning parameters) in SAP IBP/SAP.
- Own the demand planning inputs for the NPI (New Product Introduction) lifecycle, including launch forecasting, demand ramp profiles, and coordination of phase-in/phase-out plans to minimize service and inventory risk.
- Provide scenario and sensitivity analysis (e.g., upside/downside cases) and support new product introductions, phase-ins/phase-outs, and lifecycle planning.
- Recommend process and system improvements to improve demand signal quality, shorten planning response times, and strengthen end-to-end planning performance.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Excellent English language skills
- 3–5 years of demand planning, forecasting, or sales/operations planning experience, ideally in the telecommunications or electronics industry.
- Proficient in MSD, SAP (S/4HANA) and SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) for demand planning, forecasting, and analytics (or other advanced planning systems).
- Strong knowledge of S&OP processes, demand planning best practices, and forecast performance management (accuracy and bias).
- Experience in low-mix, high-volume and high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments with tight delivery schedules and demand variability.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end planning and how demand signals drive supply, inventory, and customer service outcomes in global supply chains.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to manage complexity in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume environment with competing priorities.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and other analytical tools.
