Creative & Brand Manager
Role Overview
As the Creative & Brand Manager, you will help modernize the creative function through smarter processes, innovative thinking, and AI adoption. You will operate as both a leader and maker, leading creative intake, prioritization, and team execution while directly contributing to high-impact work across brand, digital, video, and campaign initiatives. This role requires equal strength in people and workflow leadership and hands-on execution, with an expectation to use AI and modern tools to experiment, test, optimize, and learn faster across creative workflows and content production. You will ensure projects move efficiently, creative standards stay high, and the RUCKUS brand is expressed consistently across every touchpoint.
Team & Work Model
This is a virtual role that manages both FTE and contractors. The position requires strong day-to-day leadership across internal team members and external creative resources, with clear prioritization, feedback, and quality control across all workstreams.
Core Responsibilities
Creative Operations & Workflow Management
- Lead triage of incoming creative requests, setting priorities, clarifying scope, and ensuring the team is focused on the highest-impact work.
- Manage project allocation across team members, balancing workload, matching assignments to strengths, and stepping in directly when execution support is needed.
- Oversee creative requests within Optimizely, validating accuracy and completeness before routing and final assignment.
- Set the quality bar for the team while reviewing deliverables, coaching refinements, and personally ensuring final output meets brand and creative standards.
Cross-Team Coordination & Request Routing
- Oversee video posting requests by consolidating requirements and partnering with video production to ensure accurate and timely publishing across Vidyard and YouTube.
- Direct copy proofing requests to the appropriate stakeholders, ensuring each review is supported with the necessary context for efficient turnaround.
- Serve as the primary creative lead for cross-functional stakeholders, providing direction to the team, resolving blockers, and ensuring work moves forward with speed and clarity.
Brand Governance & Asset Management
- Own brand governance by setting standards, reviewing high-visibility assets, coaching teams and partners on proper application, and directly shaping work that represents the RUCKUS brand.
- Review and approve Canva-created materials to ensure adherence to brand standards, providing direction and refinements as needed.
- Own general imagery requests, including resizing, reformatting, and distribution of approved assets to support timely execution across teams.
- Oversee external use of RUCKUS branding, ensuring partners and publications receive approved assets and apply the brand accurately and consistently.
Video Creative & Production Support
- Lead video concept development and creative direction while also contributing directly to storyboards, shot planning, and b-roll ideation.
- Source and generate visual assets using Shutterstock, Runway, and Adobe Firefly.
- Develop on-screen text, and creative direction for production.
- Collaborate on voiceover editing and revisions using Descript, with final production refinements completed in professional editing tools.
- Provide clear creative direction to ensure consistency between concept and final delivery.
Digital & Web Design
- Design and produce web imagery including hero graphics, banners, icons, and inline banners.
- Create page mockups to demonstrate layout, visual hierarchy, and user experience.
- Lead development of new web pages and enhancements through design direction, feedback, and direct execution support where needed.
- Provide and maintain imagery that supports a polished, brand-aligned partner portal experience.
Marketing & Campaign Support
- Design email and newsletter imagery using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and other tools.
- Drive campaign execution through visually compelling assets aligned to messaging, brand standards, and business objectives.
- Partner with the web team to build landing pages and emails within KNAK, ensuring strong visual execution and alignment to campaign goals.
Product Photography
- Capture and produce product photography, including multiple angles and detailed editing for marketing use.
Platform & Tool Administration
- Manage Shutterstock usage across teams, balancing resource allocation and coordinating with external stakeholders to maximize contract value.
- Maintain and optimize creative workflows across platforms including Optimizely, KNAK, Vidyard, AI tools, and core design tools, using AI to experiment, test, optimize, and scale content production more efficiently.
Leadership Expectations
- Give clear, actionable feedback that improves the quality and consistency of creative output.
- Develop team capability across both FTE and contractors through coaching, direction, and strong creative judgment.
- Set and uphold quality standards across brand, digital, video, and campaign work.
- Influence stakeholders with clear rationale, strong prioritization, and a focus on business impact.
- Push back on low-value work and manage priorities in a way that protects team focus and maximizes impact.

- Improves intake speed and prioritization quality across a high volume of creative requests.
- Raises on-time delivery and overall creative throughput without lowering standards.
- Maintains consistent brand expression across channels, teams, and external touchpoints.
- Increases team efficiency through stronger workflow design, smarter prioritization, and better use of tools.
- Uses AI and modern creative tools to reduce low-value manual work and improve speed, scalability, and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in creative, brand, or design roles, with experience leading projects and guiding the work of others in a fast-paced marketing environment.
- Experience operating as a working manager or player-coach, balancing people leadership, prioritization, and hands-on creative execution.
- Strong experience across brand governance, digital design, campaign support, video creative, and web content development.
- Hands-on proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and modern creative and workflow platforms such as Optimizely, KNAK, and Vidyard.
- Experience using AI tools to support experimentation, testing, workflow optimization, and more efficient content production.
- Strong judgment, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high creative standards.
- Combines creative leadership with operational discipline to streamline high-volume workflows and elevate overall output quality.
- Ensures consistent, high-quality brand expression across channels, audiences, and touchpoints.
- Serves as a strategic creative partner across design, marketing, web, and external stakeholders, aligning execution with brand and business goals.
- Leverages AI and modern creative tools to increase speed, scalability, and quality while enabling more efficient content production.
